“4ever connected” is a process-based project that evolves with each presentation. The work remains open to changes in material and context, allowing each performance to produce a new iteration. Through a fictional romantic monologue addressed to machines, the performance considers the shifting relationship between self-perception and digital representations. The anime assistant occupies an unstable position within the work, existing as a narrative presence, a represented object, and an interface. Within this construction, the work demonstrates how existing expectations of femininity are reinforced through digital design. The logic of representation in “4ever connected” relates to Baudrillard’s concept of the simulacrum, in which the image no longer functions only as a reflection of reality but begins to shape the way reality is perceived.
